Sign up for a Checkr account
Go to checkr.com and create an account. They will walk you through a credentialing process to verify your business purpose before you can run live checks.
checkr.comGet your Checkr API key
In the Checkr dashboard, go to Developer Settings and copy your API key. Add it as CHECKR_API_KEY in Dashboard → Settings → Environment Variables.
Get your Checkr Webhook Secret
In Checkr, create a webhook pointing to your backend function URL for "checkrWebhook". Copy the webhook secret and add it as CHECKR_WEBHOOK_SECRET in your environment variables.
Build the Checkr backend functions
Once you have the API key, tell Base44 AI to: "I now have my Checkr API key set. Please connect the background check payment to automatically create a Checkr candidate and invitation, and add a webhook to receive the results automatically."
Claim your Stripe sandbox account
Go to Dashboard → Integrations tab → click "Claim Account" to take ownership of the Stripe sandbox.
Switch to live Stripe keys when ready
Go to Dashboard → Integrations → Stripe and provide your real Stripe API keys to enable live payments.
